Father Paul Keller Honored 10/27/2017

Each year the Greater Cincinnati Consortium of Colleges and Universities hold a Celebration of Teaching luncheon at which time each of the eighteen institutions honors outstanding teachers. Father Paul Keller is this year’s recipient representing The Athenaeum of Ohio / Mount St. Mary’s Seminary. Father Paul Keller is Associate Professor of Sacramental and Liturgical Theology.

Originally from Saginaw, Michigan, Father Paul Jerome Keller, O.P., S.T.D., is an associate professor of sacramental theology at the Athenaeum of Ohio where he has taught for nearly eight years. Previously he has taught at Providence College in Rhode Island and Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio, in addition to pastoral ministry at St. Mary's Church in New Haven, Connecticut.

Father Keller did his undergraduate work at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota as well as Franciscan University of Steubenville. Prior to entering the Order of Preachers (the Dominican Order) in 1987, he worked for a number of years at Michigan Bell (AT&T). He completed the S.T.B. and S.T.L. degrees at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C. and was ordained a priest in 1993. His doctorate is from the Athenaeum of Sant'Anselmo in Rome, writing on "Why Religious Consecration is Not a Sacrament: The History of the Question and Contemporary Reflections."

He has made guest appearances on Relevant Radio, the Catholic Channel on Sirius Radio, Vatican Radio, and Catholic Answers Live, in addition to giving numerous theological lectures, conferences and seminars. He is the sometime past president of The Society for Catholic Liturgy and continues to serve on its board of directors. He is also the author of 101 Questions & Answers on the Sacraments of Healing: Penance and Anointing as well as A Lenten Journey with Jesus Christ and Saint Thomas Aquinas and is currently producing a new book: A Year with the Eucharist.
