February 23: LeBlond Lecture: Dr. Patrick J. Deneen
Location: Mount St. Mary's Seminary & School of Theology, The Bartlett Center
Dr. Patrick J. Deneen, Professor of Political Science at the University of Notre Dame, will be speaking at our upcoming LeBlond Lecture on February 23 at 7:30 pm in the Bartlett Center.
Dr. Deneen will explore the common good, especially how it is encouraged and fortified through good governance and the ways ordinary people reinforce it by their habits and practices. He will argue that the measure of good politic is not the size of government, but its efficacy in supporting those institutions that embody the authentic common good. These topics will be examined through the lens of the theologian Jean Danielou, S.J., and his seminal work, Prayer as a Political Problem.
This event is free, open to the public and will be livestreamed at athenaeum.edu.
