Forty-fifth Annual March for Life01.23.18
Before the sun broke over the horizon on January 18, Fifty-nine Mount St. Mary's of the West seminarians, three Honduran seminarians, and three priests left the seminary to invade Washington, D.C. for the 45th annual March for Life.
On Friday the 19th, we joined hundreds of thousands of pilgrims to be witnesses for life and protest abortion. We marched down Constitution Ave. to the Supreme Court uniting our prayers to Jesus Christ through the Blessed Mother's intercession for an end to abortion in this country. We also prayed for all those affected by abortion and those who are currently contemplating abortion – we pray that they may experience the mercy and love of Christ's Most Sacred Heart.
While we were in D.C, we also had the opportunity to visit a few churches and some of our men attended and processed in the Vigil Mass for Life at the National Shrine and Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. On the morning of the March, we split up to join the bishops and young people from our dioceses for Mass – many of us attended the Youth Rally and Mass in the packed Capitol One Arena.
Let us keep offering up prayers and sacrifices for an end to this grievous violation against life and in reparation for the sins of our country.
