July 21-23: Sacred Music Institute Conference
Location: Mount St. Mary's Seminary & School of Theology
Beauty Ever Ancient, Ever New: Tradition and the Sacred Music Treasury
Join us for our 3rd annual Sacred Music Institute Conference this summer, July 21 – 23. This year’s conference, which will focus on the meaning of Tradition in regards to Catholic church music, will provide an educational resource for pastors and musicians that is both practical and intellectual. While on an intellectual level, the presentations and lectures will cultivate an understanding of what it means to be part of a theological, liturgical and musical tradition in the eyes of the Church, there will also be opportunities for practical “hands on” experiences in vocal training sessions with experts, choir rehearsals under the direction of guest conductors, and the daily singing of liturgies that will make use of the best and most recent musical resources available.
While the conference particularly intends to address the needs of parish pastors and sacred musicians, all who are interested are welcome to attend. This event is for those 18 years old and older.
DATES: July 21 – 23, 2021
LOCATION: Mount St. Mary’s Seminary & School of Theology
COST: $300 per person staying on site and $210 per person lodging elsewhere. The conference fee covers all meals and materials.
