Living the Faith in Daily Life12.01.17
“Who can find a woman of worth? Far beyond jewels is her value”, said Father David Doseck, reading from Proverbs 31:10-28 to begin his address to 130 women at the Athenaeum’s November 8, 2017 LIVE the FAITH Ladies Luncheon in Sidney. Father Doseck grew up in Botkins, Ohio, and knew many of the ladies in attendance. His mother, Teresa, seemed overjoyed to watch her son present an inspiring talk with faith-filled tips for women of all ages.
The Athenaeum holds the LIVE the FAITH Ladies Luncheons in Sidney, Dayton, Western Hills, and Kenwood in order to provide spiritual nourishment for the attendees and to enlighten them about the classes and degree programs that the Athenaeum offers the laity.
Reflection by Mrs. Fran Holthaus, chair of the Sidney luncheon and Athenaeum faculty member.
I thank You for calling women from all over the northern part of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. I thank You for their “Yes,” so that graces could abound. I thank You for the priest who so freely and honestly shared his life with his mother and his family. I thank You for his mother for her willingness to allow him to share his family experiences. I thank You for opening hearts to hear about the three main stages of a woman’s life as viewed through the eyes of this young priest. I thank You for the Scripture reading guiding us to Your expectations of our lives and gracing us with the blessings to achieve Your expectations. I thank You for allowing me to serve You and those You place in my life. Please help me to love. Amen.
Many thanks to Fran Holthaus and the organizing committee for making the Sidney Ladies Luncheon so successful!
Special thanks to door prize sponsors: Shelby Oaks Golf Club, The Spot Restaurant, Wren’s Florist and all our individual contributors.
