MTSM Faculty Honored by Catholic Media Association
08.02.22Three Mount St. Mary’s Seminary & School of Theology (MTSM) faculty members were recognized for their recent editorial and writing contributions by the Catholic Media Association (CMA). Rev. David Endres, Ph.D., Dean of Mount St. Mary’s Seminary, Kenneth Craycraft, Ph.D., J.D., the James J. Gardner Family Chair of Moral Theology and Mary Catherine Levri, D.M.A., Director of Music, received top honors at the CMA’s 2022 Press Awards.
Fr. Endres’ book, “Black Catholic Studies Reader: History and Theology” won First Place in the anthology category as well as Honorable Mention in the history category. Fr. Endres, who is also a professor of church history at MTSM, edited the book for the Catholic University of America Press. The book was published in 2021.
Dr. Craycraft received Best Regular Column Honorable Mention for his monthly column in the Catholic Telegraph, “A Closer Look.”
Dr. Levri received Best Guest Column Honorable Mention for her column, “If We Lose Beauty, We Lose Our Spiritual Sight” which was published in the February 2021 issue of the Catholic Telegraph.
The CMA is an organization of Catholic publishers and media professionals united in the action of servicing the Catholic Church. The 2022 CMA Press Awards had approximately 2,700 entries in 472 categories. More than 160 organizations entered this year’s program.
MTSM is the Archdiocese of Cincinnati’s graduate-level Catholic Seminary and School of Theology. Founded in 1829, our 75-acre campus prepares men for ordination to the priesthood and permanent diaconate as part of Mount St. Mary’s Seminary.
