Perpetual Profession of Vows

08.16.17

Br. Joseph Morgan, CPM, made his perpetual profession of vows on August 15, 2017, the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The profession was made at the Chapel of the Divine Mercy at the Fathers of Mercy Generalate in Auburn, Kentucky during a Mass celebrated by the Very Rev. David Wilton, Superior General of the Fathers of Mercy.

Br. Joseph resolves to consecrate himself to Christ and "vow perpetually obedience, poverty, and chastity, according to the Constitutions of the Fathers of Mercy." Attending the perpetual profession were seminary classmates and Fr. David Endres, academic dean of Mount St. Mary's Seminary, and Fr. David Sunberg, spiritual director at Mount St. Mary's Seminary.

Br. Joseph is beginning his fourth year of studies for the priesthood at Mount St. Mary's.

The Fathers of Mercy began sending seminarians to Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in 2014. Six are currently in formation, including Br. Joseph. The Fathers of Mercy are a religious community dedicated to the preaching of parish missions and retreats emphasizing the Mercy of God with a missionary spirit and zeal for the salvation of souls. The Fathers of Mercy were founded in France by Father Jean Baptiste Rauzan in 1808.
