The Sacred Music Institute will once again offer a three-day conference for priests and church musicians in Catholic dioceses throughout the region July 20 – 22, 2022 ~ Sung Worship: The Work of our Baptism.
This conference will focus on the meaning of sung worship, the element of sacrifice in the Mass and the notion of active participation in the liturgy as the vocation of the baptized.
The conference will feature a keynote lecture, breakout sessions, choir rehearsals and sung liturgies for all participants. Those interested in learning how to read and sing Gregorian chant will have opportunities to work with experts in rehearsals and public liturgies on this liturgical music which has “pride of place” in the Catholic tradition. Attendees will be introduced to new skills and musical knowledge and receive inspiration regarding liturgical music planning, organization and implementation. This has become a popular event that has attracted priests and musicians throughout the Midwest and is positively impacting parish music programs.
