Taking Final Step Before Becoming Priests

Eight Mount St. Mary’s seminarians were ordained to the transitional diaconate spring 2017. Transitional deacons are men preparing for the Roman Catholic priesthood and the new deacons are expected to be ordained priests May 2018.

Seminarians Craig Best, Jarred Kohn, Andy Smith and Jacob Willig were ordained transitional deacons for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati by Bishop Joseph R. Binzer during Mass at St. Peter in Chains Cathedral in Cincinnati April 29.

Seminarians Kyle Gase, Scott Perry and Andrew Wellmann were ordained transitional deacons for the Diocese of Toledo by Bishop Daniel E. Thomas during Mass at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary in Toledo May 20.

Seminarian Br. Victor Moratin, C.P.M. was ordained a transitional deacon for the Fathers of Mercy by Bishop William Medley, D.D. during Mass at the Chapel of Divine Mercy in Auburn, KY June 3.
